['ʃædbɔlt], Maurice Francis Richard, neuseeländischer Schriftsteller, * Auckland 4. 6. 1932; arbeitet als Journalist, Publizist und Drehbuchautor. In seinen Romanen untersucht er, mithilfe ironischer Umsetzung konventioneller realistischer Erzählmuster, Alltagsmythen und Ereignisse aus der neuseeländischen Geschichte sowie die Wertorientierungen in einer zunehmend materialistisch ausgerichteten Gesellschaft.
